I love it when readers share their favorite books! Of this list, I've only heard of Against the Machine. I've heard of Barbara Kingsolver, but never read anything by her. I'm stoked to check these out ... when things slow down in January!

Agreed on Everything Is Never Enough. Such a beautiful, compelling book.

Do you have a favorite Chernow book? I have his Washington biography sitting on my bookshelf, but it's intimidating. I'm aiming to tackle one big biography in 2026.

Oh man, great question. If you're into early American politicians, Hamilton is probably the best (but Washington is great, too!).

If you prefer something not as politically-focused, Titan (on Rockefeller) is great. Titan is probably my favorite of his overall. Maybe just because I knew so little about Rockefeller and that era, so I learned a bunch. (I've read a lot about early American history, so those Chernow books are great, but not as enlightening as Titan was.)

I just finished Theo of Golden and bought 4 more copies to give as Christmas gifts.
