The internet is social. Without people, what even is it?

On Monday I shared a reflection on Joanne McNeil’s observation that, over the years, we have transitioned from thinking of the internet as a “place” (“I get on the internet”) to thinking of it more as a “person” (“The internet thinks _____”).

Today we continue reflecting on McNeil’s work in her book Lurking, which I highly recommend.
